Battle of the Bars, Key West
JANUARY 2011 EVENTSJanuary 6 - 29 Brush Strokes Marathon: Artists Judith Conner, Julie Joyce, M.Ann Lynch
and Betty Rondeau present “Brush Strokes” --- a
collection of colorful sunsets, turquoise waters, tropical
flowers, sea scape's and local Keys scenes. Opening
reception on Sunday, January. 2 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at
the Marathon Community Theater. The group show continues
from Thurs. Jan. 6th to Sat., Jan. 29th before the curtain and
during the intermission performances of "Bad Year For Tomatoes".
Art work in the show is for sale with 20% going to MCT as a

the American Red Cross Key West Chapter in 1917,

in the Florida Keys community who best exemplifies the
principles of the American Red Cross -- those of Humanity,
Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Volunteer Service

February 12 -13 17th Annual Pigeon Key Art Festival Marathon: This two day juried art festival ranks among the top 200 art shows in the country and showcases an impressive collection of paintings, pottery, sculpture, photography, fine art and jewelry. The festival also features great live music, art raffle, Kid’s Corner and terrific island cuisine. All proceeds benefit the Pigeon Key Foundation. February 14 Wesley House Annual Valentine's Party Key West: Held each year on the five hundred block of Caroline Street right in front of Key West’s historic Curry Mansion, the annual fundraising gala has one of the largest silent auctions in the Keys, fabulous food, great music and dancing. March 6 53rd Annual Key Colony Beach Day Key Colony Beach: This old fashioned, annual event draws a local island crowd who gather for a lazy day of good food, drinks and music all day long. Start with the Shriners' Pancake Breakfast at 8 p.m.,stroll the art and crafts booths, try your luck at the world famous barracuda races or bet on your favorite plastic ducky in a "swim"against all odds across the 7th Street Canal.
